The clowns who killed phones for volte don't realize that giving old people anything more complicated than a Nokia 3310 is a recipe for disaster for their kids

@sendpaws Funny you mention Nokia, because they had all the tech necessary for the modern smartphone by 2001. They just refused to debut it for years because the management thought they could continue to make money on the current paradigm for the next 5-10 years before making a massive product change. Literally the IBM/Xerox management corruption Jobs talked about in that '95 interview.

@tadano @sendpaws I had a Nokia 6 when I fell for the HMD trickery. I really had hoped that Nokia would become big and kino and welp it didn't lmao. -

@sendpaws More precisely, marketing people think too small and too slow. They seek to maximize what they have now for the longest period of time, and don't see value in huge innovation within shorter timeframes. This leaves them highly vulnerable to getting the rug pulled from under them by disruptions (see: IBM and Xerox getting beaten to the punch on GUIs and personal computers by Apple because of this sclerosis)

@tadano that's how it is
Management people think they can do the same shit forever and then they're broke because they left.
