All @invidious servers are either 500 erroring out on their VPN based tunnels, or not loading videos. No matter what connection I use I can't watch anything. I have no hope for the future. Even Grayjay is not immune from IP bans.

@invidious every single invidious instance has implemented CAPTCHAs, so every single one that's up to date will have the iOS failing to load videos bug. I'd call that a critical/urgent bug. Unjailbroken iOS devices only have invidious as the option for a truly open source way for a privacy friendly frontend to YT. All other extensions upsell YT features.

@JackRacc Hello! So what you say is that Safari for iOS can't run the captcha? Or am I missing something?

@invidious Aha, so Invidious has a bug with Safari for iOS. It's not actually down. I usually use Invidious with iOS so this is a real shame.

@JackRacc I have forwarded that to more knowledgeable people. I hope this can be easily solved!

@invidious After all instances implemented CAPTCHA, all videos after completing the check fail to load, but only on Safari for iOS

@JackRacc Okay, so the problem is unrelated to the captcha. Because HD720 was removed by Youtube, we changed the default quality to "DASH", which is not supported by the current version of our player (VideoJS 7) on iOS.
We're planning to update VideoJS to the next major version (8), but until then, all you can do is select the "medium" quality in the preferences.

@JackRacc You can use Yattee if you have access to an instance that doesn't block API
https://github.com/yattee/yattee
(Using the testflight version is best)

@JackRacc The 6h cut-off is caused by Youtube providing playback links that expire after that amount of time.
We could add some logic for the client to tell the server to fetch a new link, though it's not garanteed that the video player (VideoJS) won't pause the video to reload the new data.
Also, this is very low priority, as reloading the page "fixes" the problem in all cases.

@invidious Unfortunately my phone is outdated for SwiftUI and I don't have access to Xcode or ability to load developer apps. Not to mention it does not solve my current problem of a reliable 24/7 livestream viewer that doesn't cut off after 6 hours. yt-dlp I have already gone through 2 ISP IP bans viewing 24/7 livestreams.
