You watched "The Hunger Games" and sided
    with the resistance.
You watched "Star Wars" and sided with
    the resistance.
You watched "The Matrix" and sided with
    the resistance.
You watched "Divergent" and sided with
    the resistance.
You watched "V for Vendetta" and sided with
    the resistance.
    When it's fiction you understand.
Yet you refuse to see it when it's the reality you're
    living in.
    Wild.
Needless to say, in none of these movies was the
richest man in the world part of the resistance.

@joewo I didn't watch The Hunger Games, because it came out after I stopped going to movies and stopped feeding my brain Hollywood pap.
I watched Stars Wars in 1977 and did not side with the resistance, but instead wondered why are all these people falling for this sub-Buck Rogers space opera and it's cardboard heroes.
I watched the Matrix and did not side with the resistance because I don't like Manichean theology served up with slow motion kung fu and dark sunglasses.

@joewo I did not see Divergent or V for Vendetta (as with The Hunger Games, see above). We all live by our fictions, and you are not in the resistance if you borrowed your trembling cup of meaning these movies. Resistance is making your own meaning.

@joewo And it's a lot harder to be in the Resistance when the consequences are real. When the threat of force (not that "Force") is real. When the secret police, the prisons, the truncheons, and the bullets are real. When you have to do more than put on your dark glasses and swing your light saber.

@joewo I do not doubt that Musk has seen all those movies and thinks *he* is the leader of the resistance.
