   Okay the time has come. I am a happy Datadog customer, but for various reasons™ I am now looking for a self-hostable free or otherwise not-usage-billed, alternative.

   For those of you who have worked with Datadog and like their user interface, especially around building out dashboards, which solution that matches my intro criteria that you are happy with using instead of Datadog.

   I have tried Prometheus and Grafana and their Dashboard building UIs leave me uninspired.

     @mattly one thing that is turning me down is that I have to assemble components, with DD it’s their agent and their service showing me dashboards.

     But I am intrigued by https://github.com/observablehq/framework and I want to see how hard it is to build a nice line graph component with time series controls.
