Apparently the lore behind Finality’s Auger (the latest dungeon exotic) involves the weapon basically willing itself into existence. That does not seem… good #Destiny2

@null_aleph Since it’s this kind of universe: Can a ghost numb or anesthetize a guardian in a situation like this? Or did they just straight up tank the pain of cutting their own tongue off??

@InfiniteHench that said, I would imagine that getting vaporized disintegrated obliterated incinerated ad nauseam may play a role in how easy that is to deal with.

@null_aleph That’s the other perspective I was slowly forming. You die, explode, get dismembered, etc. enough, and your Ghost fixes you up every time, what’s the big deal about a little self-mutilation that you know can be easily repaired?
Perhaps it is easy to become… complacent in one’s immortality

@InfiniteHench it's always been my personal head canon that it's a bit of both, at least with respect to my own Guardians. It strikes me that the personality of the ghost plays a role in that as well, in as much as the personality of the Guardian does. Some partnerships are a bit healthier than others, but in the end we're all immortal warfighters, and that leaves lasting damage no matter what.
