Do people generally consider it useful when someone you want to follow has multiple topic-oriented accounts?

I know I've wished for the ability to follow e.g. "this person's cool projects but not their streams of 40 consecutive shitposts in five minutes" before, but kind of dropped the idea after deciding most people wouldn't tag their posts well enough for a feature like this to work.

(Context: considering swapping out mastodon for gotosocial, and in the process maybe splitting out @'projects/@'catpictures/@'inane_shitposts.)

@emily I feel like the only reason I'd split would be for announcements but I feel like proper feed like a blog (or software release feed aggregation, which I thought few times about) would be more appropriate.
