@arh @tyil 3MiB/s is slow as molasses considering that the >30 year old 100BASE-TX standard had ~11MiB/s throughput (full duplex usually, although some half-duplex hardware exists) and 25+ year old 1000BASE-T standard has 125MiB/s throughput (full duplex).
10GBASE-T is overkill for a typical home network and even that's >23 years old.-

@tyil @arh Yes, that was the entire point of the post.
I was pointing out that the service most ISPs offer is a joke and is much slower than 30 year old standards and costs a fortune despite that. -

@Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com I don't know where @arh@blackstar.cafe lives, so I'm assuming where he lives its just very difficult to get anything better. Not everyone has access to an ISP offering affordable gigabit networking sadly.
