@skylar @RustyCrab I have the exact opposite experience. Every Seagate drive I had, and had tens of them, was impressively bad. It didn't matter whether it was the desktop Barracuda, the 2.5" USB external ones, or enterprise Ironwolfs.
My 5TB USB external one had an area of 300GB where it reads at ~10 MB/s since it came out of the box.

@skylar @RustyCrab Literally the only reason why we have them in storage servers at work is to prevent bad batches from WD failing at the same time and destroying data. It's mixed 50/50 and statistically Seagates die ~15% more frequently.
