The hinge on my pixelbook go has failed, so I need a replacement. Not sure what to get. I want a high res screen (3k/4k) wirh at least 16GB RAM, and mostly use a terminal and a web browser. I don't care about CPU performance, max screen size 14", lightweight. Ideally, would like to run Linux on it.

I'm looking at tuxedo computers and system76, but I'm wondering what other options are out there?

@ryanc Framework are pretty great also. Bit pricey, but solid.

@viq less expensive than the system76, though.

Tbh the most interesting thing to me about the system76 is that the built in keyboard has programmable firmware.

@ryanc I just checked and there are 25+ 16 GB Pixelbook Go laptops for sale on eBay. Until now, I wasn't even aware 16 GB models were available. Maybe it's time for a change, but Google will support them with updates until around August of 2029, so they're still worth a look if one will fit your needs.

@Spaceman_Spiff getting them shipped to the UK is a pain, though...
