   @grahamdunning do you have a MIDI synth you want to route to, or do you need a player with an integrated softsynth?

   For the latter Timidity++ works iirc

     Can anyone recommend a free MIDI file player for windows?
     Ideally if it could show what notes and channels are active too, that would be a plus.
