My friends hosted a sign-making potluck party. I think we did ourselves proud.

The idea is simple:
- Hosts supply some sign-making materials
- Bring some snacks to share if you want
- Bring more art supplies if you want
That’s it! Stone soup activism. And it sure did work well.
(Of course, our hosts ended up with more art supplies and food than they started with!)

The idea here is to make signs while we have time, good company, and good art supplies on hand, and have them ready to use — not just once, but over and over and over and over.

I didn’t manage to photograph everyone’s sign, alas! There were some great ones I missed.
Possibly my favorite of the ones not pictured was just the word “NO” filling an entire 30x20 poster. Sure did make the point.
Anyone else inspired to have their own protest poster party? I sure can recommend it! And now that we have these signs, it’s just a little easier to show up. Maybe I’ll even just stand on a local street corner with one of mine for half an hour after work….

@steve
Heh, that would be the one thing they focus on, wouldn’t it?
We need a term that’s like “bikeshedding” except it means fixating on a non-urgent side conflict while ignoring an immediate crisis.
@inthehands Gonna have the Porsche subreddit real upset with that last one. 😂
