     @lucy I've been using Kagi for a few months and it's been great, but I also get that paying for a search engine is a weird concept in the modern age.

     @lucy @87ytO93NfgzyEthiHPvD @meso I've used Google, Bing, Brave and SearxNG with all of these three enabled and few others in the last year and still use Gogle at work. Google just gives me AI generated slop when I needed to look something up (plus the stupid AI summaries), Bing more-or-less the same and Brave wasn't much better. SearxNG doesn't work great either when all other search engines serve you AI SEO'ed bullshit. With Kagi I didn't notice any SEO bullshit yet even though they mostly use other search engines for their backend results and keyword searches work great as that's the only way I use a search engine anyway.

     @phnt @87ytO93NfgzyEthiHPvD the usual suspects are shilling kagi, i tried the free version and it's not any better ime. definitely not worth paying for at least for the search feature alone.
     
     i want a search engine that searches for the keywords i type in and ONLY those and ignores anything else that'd be the absolute baseline. bonus points if i can preselect what websites to search on and then it should just blacklist the kind of websites that copy or ai-gen articles to slap ads on.
