@anemone @professionalbigot69 but don't you get a lot of good stuff from valve's service? They'd have to come up with their own stuff and some stuff is also expected by users at this point -

@mischievoustomato@tsundere.love @professionalbigot69@poa.st if there was more competition between marketplaces it would benefit developers/publishers, and consumers since steam, and others would be incentivized to do things like lowering costs to attract both developers and customers to their platform. Unfortunately the attempts so far have sucked. Epic did a lot to make themselves attractive to developers, but they were very anti-consumer in the process (annoying exclusivity deals, incredibly shitty storefont/launcher compared to steam)
GoG has just kind of failed at being a mainstream platform by having both a shitty client and a lack of features or requirements that make them unattractive to many developers.Johnny Peligro likes this. -
