There's also some suggestion that the "Pharaoh who didn't remember Joseph" in the Bible was a Hyksos ruler, as well as some idea that the Philistines were the remains of the Hyksos (as well as hints that there was some proto-Greek influence in both ... I can't recall whether Cyprus or Crete)

Yeah, all that stuff gets pretty interesting in small doses. I couldn't be the person sifting through debris to find pottery shards that resemble shards from some distant culture, but I'll read 2-3 hours of articles about it once in a while.
