With the potential to change how we respond to wildfires, the first satellite in a constellation of satellites that is specifically designed to locate wildfires early and precisely anywhere in the world is now in orbit around the Earth. Launched by the nonprofit Earth Fire Alliance, the FireSat constellation will be made up of 50 satellites and is the first of its kind to be built specifically to detect and track fires.
