I was in a bureaucratic loop where my registration is expired so I can't get my car out of impound, but I can't get my registration because I can't get my car with the DMV. everything is very far so I wanted to know im going to the right place before setting out on my bike. DMV websites are broken as hell and phone hold times would put me past closing time.
I know AAA is like a bad org re: climate change, but I did manage to get ahold of them and they gave me good info in like 2 minutes. I have also been getting fucked around by my car insurance company, which is like most companies now is just a website shell around an LLM "service agent" and outsourced call center workers, and honestly when you encounter an organization where people still actually work there it's remarkably refreshing. I've never been a "I demand customer service" kind of person, but even I feel like "there are human beings that work at a place" is kind of a low bar to set, but there is my bar.
