I've had an internal struggle with her and the series since her insane takes. now my kids are showing interest in the books (they found my cache) is there a series thst is like HP but doesn't have a insane right wing nutjob as an author? -

I get that people love the Harry Potter books. But if someone is looking for series set in a school of magic, there are even better choices. I'll toss out one:The Scholomance series by Naomi Novak is everything that Harry Potter wanted to be, and more. If you want a hidden globe-wide society that guards magic, a main character with powerful magic, a prophecy of being The One, and conflict -- this series is perfect. And it's darker, funnier, and better constructed than Harry Potter.
