I think there's a large fraction that doesn't know, doesn't care and/or doesn't care to know. Low-info voting prolly won't help; turnout doesn't help any more.

Don’t think of it as winning and losing; think of it as norm-setting and example-making. Who gets pushback? Who gets a pass? Who gets cheered on? Who gets absolutely smacked down? People care a lot more about that than about who “won” a debate on Lincoln-Douglass terms.
