Folks saying "I don't care about the Ivies" and citing Columbia's willing collaboration with a fascist police state, the way elite universities contribute to the hell world, or class concerns are kinda missing the forest for the trees. Nothing these nazis do is good, or for good reasons. They aren't taking control of Columbia for any reasons you'd agree with and they won't stop with the Ivies. There is no scenario where this ends with only the elitist fuck barrel factory schools gone.

In other words, I get that you care about education reform, I get that you care about class warfare, under any other circumstances I would join you in saying that we should stop caring so much about the Ivies and maybe do away with them entirely.
But this isn't about that. These nazis mean to turn whatever universities they allow to survive into machines that spit out indoctrinated fascists and nothing else; and destroy the rest. Not just Ivies, all of them. And Columbia is ground zero for that

This Yarvin guy, who literally works for the tech billionaires who own Trump, wrote a plan to transform the US into one of these monarchal dictatorships and lemme tell you if you read it, and then took a look at what Trump and Elon are actually doing, you'd be terrified. Part of that plan is the purposeful destruction, and repurposing of ALL higher education institutes as part of a war against what Yavin calls "the cathedral." PS, if you hear ppl using this term, they're tech nazis.

Now by "the cathedral" Yarvin means a lot more than just higher education institutes, he's talking about what you or I might call the larger liberal establishment here; the universities, the publishing houses, the media, etc
I don't want to spend a lot of time explaining this absolute fuckhead's grand strategies, you can find analysis online - but the basic idea is to destroy, or seize control of any institution that isn't willing to push fascist propaganda and support this neo-Monarchal order

They're doing it because the billionaires in charge read a propagandist named Curtis Yarvin who has laid out a plan for turning the world into a series of corporate dictatorships and neo-Monarchies. Yarvin is the pet "philosopher" of Peter Thiel and literally all the nazi billionaires in Trump's orbit have read his work and think he's some kinda prophet/genius (he is not.)
