@thendrix @ForbiddenDreamer @lain Maybe I'm a little too cynical, but, like...which times did it get farther than the ceremonial firing of the closest guy they could blame? And all the people that were in charge of anything when Kennedy was assassinated are dead.
And then the matter public perception: the CIA can just write "Oh, yeah...we definitely did MKULTRA, we did Operation Mockingbird, we did all of that shit. It's on our website now. Mockingbird, we put that in the newspapers when we were doing it!" and someone is discussing some event and you say "Oh, right, that was the CIA" and they call you crazy. You can send them links. The Kool-Aid pitcher is completely empty and the paper cups have been licked clean.
Then there's the investigation, right? That's what got dumped. And I think all the stuff that happened before is probably more interesting, the stuff they didn't or couldn't investigate.
Anything interesting that comes out of it, sure. I'd like to see it when people start connecting the dots. There are a lot of people completely obsessed with it and maybe some fascinating stuff will land. I'm just not expecting this:
> It's not much, but it will finally put the throw away "national security" arguments out the window.
I mean, name a guy that is more afraid of "contempt of court" charges than "treason" charges. And they can slow-walk this shit for 61 years.
Like I said, maybe I'm overly cynical.
