   A Turquia criticou o apoio dos EUA.
   "The failure to recognise the Democratic Union Party (PYD) as a terrorist group was creating a "sea of blood", turkey says the PYD, on which the US relies to battle so-called Islamic State in Syria, is an offshoot of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
   Earlier, in some of his fiercest remarks so far against the US, Turkey's president asked in a speech: "Are you on our side or the side of the terrorist PYD and PKK organisation?"
   "Is there a difference between the PKK and the PYD? Is there a difference with the YPG?" he added, referring to the PYD's militia, the Popular Protection Units.
   "We have written proof! We tell the Americans: 'It's a terror group.' But the Americans stand up and say: 'No, we don't see them as terror groups.'"

     Em 2017, o Pentágono anunciou que o presidente americano Donald Trump aprovou um plano que levaria os Estados Unidos a fornecer diretamente armamento pesado ao principal grupo componente das SDF, o YPG; o plano surgiu antes de uma ofensiva final planejada para capturar Raqqa do ISIS.
     "The decision is meant to accelerate the Raqqa operation, but undermines the Turkish government's view that the Syrian Kurdish group known as the YPG is an extension of a Kurdish terrorist organization that operates in Turkey."

     While Turkey sees the PYD and YPG as offshoots of the banned PKK, the US does not and believes they are the only effective force against IS on the ground in Syria, reports the BBC's Mark Lowen in Istanbul.

     Em 2014 e 2015, os EUA iniciaram operação para lançar 120 toneladas de suprimentos militares para o YPG, as YPG também receberam 27 pacotes totalizando 24 toneladas de armas pequenas e munições e 10 toneladas de suprimentos médicos.

     @austra_lopiteco @rofaustin Se não me engano, alguma autoridade alta americana (era uma mulher) tinha se referido à região da síria dominada pela SDF como "nossa" (dos EUA). Isso tem pouco tempo.

     Fica claro que os curdos foram tolerados e apoiados para gerar desestabilização tanto para a Turquia (difícil saber o que é pior, ser inimigo/ser aliado do império) quanto para a Siria, além do acesso ao petróleo,

     @rofaustin @austra_lopiteco Eu já li um livro do Ocalan. É uma ideologia meio anarquista bem progressista (feminismo e tal) mas que não toca em nenhum momento no assunto "modo de produção" (por isso, não dá pra chamar de revolução). Super conveniente pros EUA. É quase um partido democrata mais radical no fim das contas. Por outro lado, já vi eles falando que a aliança deles com os americanos é por falta de opção e acredito demais. Só que a aliança é real, existe sim.

     @poodle @austra_lopiteco Os EUA não viram o DAANES como não viram a China como ameaça quando se alinharam contra a URSS. A defesa territorial contra a Turquia foi feita pelas YPG-YPJ, não pelas SDF. Toda revolução tem suas contradições, basta ver as dificuldades que o DAANES enfrenta hoje para manter a autonomia dentro de uma Síria unificada, isso não está colocado em jogo na negociação com o HTS. Penso que a análise de vocês tem viés de ressentimento e se orienta pelas declarações dos inimigos.

     @rofaustin @poodle coloquei um monte de referência de apoio às YPG... Ignorar todas elas e responder só sobre a SDF não tem viés, mas repercutir as próprias posições do império é ressentimento 🤷♂️
