When I'm in public, at work, around family, friends, at the hospital, or even just riding in a car, I can't have the same emotional release as when I'm by myself. It's like there's a barrier that prevents me from fully connecting with the music and my feelings when others are around.
Zoë's music just doesn't hit the same way when I'm away from my apartment. It's only when I'm completely alone, without anyone intruding on me and my emotions, that her song can truly work it's magic. In that private space, I can finally let go and experience the full emotional impact of her music.
