     ... Decided to revive my Tumblr purely as a source for photos, dammit

     All the corporate socials annoy me in one way or another, but I'm not ready to do without them entirely. At least not yet.

     So I'm compromising and accepting that I'll continue to use google and automattic stuff for now. I don't like them, but they seem slightly less evil than Meta and x.com.

     (I'd already accepted that I'm not giving up Google any time soon. I'm too invested in YouTube in particular, and also I'm not ready to give up my android phone or the Google play store or my google photos & docs collections. Yeah I could migrate some of these things somewhere else, but I'm not yet at the point where that seems like a pressing priority)
