   This is the way.

   I mean, it’s a real and terrifying possibility that we don’t even have elections by the time Schumer is up for reelection. Things are moving fast, way too fast for electoral solutions.

   But, if democracy in the US survives until future election cycles, we need to primary the hell out of the wavering half of the Democratic party. Primary every centrist •hard•, then vote whoever’s more anti-fascist (however pathetically) in the general.

   That’s down the road, heaven willing. Now: the phones, then the streets.

     New party in the same body does seem like the more tractable and realistic path right now. Heck, Republicans pulled it off twice in living memory (once with Souther Strategy, once with the Tea Party).
