Twitter / X really has become the misinformation capital of the internet hasn’t it.
Makes me sad to see so many creators and news site sticking with it. At this point, people still sticking with it and posting as if nothing is happening are showing their true colours huh.

don't just group everyone under one umbrella, just cuz someone is useing a site that you dont like dont mean they are bad person, twitter is impotent to so many ppl, like artists who need more ppl to see their work. you are just hating at this point just to hate

@gamingonlinux I am beside myself with the robust 20-yo medical community. The emergency room doctors and surgeons think nothing is as bad as what they deal with on a daily basis at work, so they blow off the idea of changing platforms
It's a stellar community, teaching and discussing current research. I keep begging them to move but only a handful have and most cross-post from xitter anyway 🤬😩

@gamingonlinux scientists working for bayer pharmaceuticals experimented on concentration camp inmates to develop life saving drugs. That was a moral dilemma. “Do I take the lives of dozens to possibly save millions?” They were scheduled to die no matter what, wouldn’t it be better to get the science? Staying off certain social media isn’t a moral dilemma. If you overlook what they are doing you are not moral.

Unfortunately, for eastern folks like India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Occupied Papua, Twitter/X still way to go. People ranting, complaining, share stuff there. Also there's a lot of information about Occupation of Papua can be found freely on Twitter/X than in anywhere else.
For western folks, yes, Twitter/X is a dumpster fire, but for Eastern .... it depends and many still find it useful.

@gamingonlinux I deeply dislike most of Twitter, and certainly its owner. I stick around because I see some valuable parts of it, like Community Notes (which is actually a good tool IMO), and I still find interesting content there. I would a bit sad if I someone said that this choice of staying there "showed my true colors", after everything I've done and am doing to fight the things I'd be accused of

@gamingonlinux @niccolove I'm personally not using it, but he's the richest man on the planet and Twitter is running on a loss. Adblock exists and 1 person doesn't make a dent in revenue and usage staistics anyway.
We waste our time with more infighting when the Nazis are in government. We should act as if ethnic cleansing will happen in a few years - they're already deporting green card holders for protesting - not as if Biden is in office.
