   reading some of the solutions people found on stackexchange and some of the solutions are wacky but totally believable to anyone who has been using a computer for very long
   
   for example, one lady says she made the adaptive brightness stop by changing her background image on the desktop. she got downvoted a bunch but I absolutely believe this worked for her, because windows is a GIANT PILE OF DOGSHIT and I have seen problems disappear from seemingly unrelated actions plenty of times
