Lord help me there are liberals on the timeline posting about watering the tree of liberty. Please don't take up arms to defend the status quo, for fuck's sake.

Fascism has come to the imperial core, but it's been our foreign policy to impose it on the periphery for decades and your favorite democrat politicians have signed off on that again and again and again. Read Parenti. Read Marx. Understand the origins and function of capitalism. I promise it will demystify things.

@North anybody who sides with fascism is a piece of shit, and communists are piece of shit too

if you are referring to nazi germany, and von papen making a pact with the nazis, yes he was an onerous deplorable fuck, and the same is true for the KPD and Ernst Thälmann who relentelessly attacked the goverment of SPD, and even when the nazis put members of the KPD in prison, their main focus was still attacking the SPD

      2) Fascism arises historically from decaying capitalism and the liberal movements have ALWAYS sided with the fascists over the communists. Every time.

As your class analysis deepens, you may have need for subtle distinctions (capital vs finance capital, "the petite bourgeoisie", peasantry vs proletariat vs intelligentsia) but the most important distinction is just this: Workers and Owners. No other analysis of class has the explanatory power of true socialist class consciousness. The owning class understands this, which is why they have class solidarity "across the aisle."

      1) Your class is entirely defined by your relation to the means of production, not by how much money you have or where you live or how you act or what you do and don't consume. There are people who make money by working and people who make money by renting.

      - I don't have to pretend that Trump is worse than Bush was, or that Obama wasn't a war criminal, or that border detentions didn't go up during Biden's term. I didn't have to pretend that Biden wasn't a walking corpse.

      - I don't have to wonder why my personal finances are only ever negatively affected by "the economy" but never positively

I don't have to square the circle, and you don't either if you understand these things:

      For instance:

      - I don't have to wonder why the Democratic Party is reacting to Trump's second term with—at best—meek, performative "resistance" (just like in his first term)

      - It's not a mystery to me why Kamala ran to the right on every issue during her campaign

      - I don't have to defend identity politics and woke-scolding to defend the liberation of my black, trans, and disabled friends

      - I'm not surprised by "crunchy moms" turning into Q-Anon freaks

@North the entire trick of almost every communist on the web, is to portray yourself as anti-nazi, and then depict every other belief on democracy as fascism adjacent

so yeah, i am quite pissed off at your ilk, your ideology sucks and the only mention of history it deserves is right next to nazis (as is tradition with the molotov ribbetrop pact)

@NeonPurpleStar To be fair to you, I am on a German server and you have stumbled across a rare case of American ostalgie. It's okay that we don't agree, but you called me a piece of shit and I don't know anything about you except that we're both pan (high-five)

      Cheers,

@NeonPurpleStar I'm not going to relitigate the Weimar Years with a stranger on the internet. I'm a communist. You and I disagree about the value of parliamentary liberal democracy.

I was actually thinking in particular about American Imperialism and the way that our liberal party creates and supports fascist movements to destroy socialist projects on the imperial periphery and install fascist governments. They sell it to the citizens of those countries by appealing to liberal ideals.
