@ErickaSimone This kind of pattern happens repeatedly: they study what works organically representing the actual will of the people, and engineer a way to repurpose it for what they want to present as the will of the people. See: Cambridge Analytica, etc.
Non-/Anti-technofascist technologists need to be one step ahead of this game, predicting how they'll be able to malpurpose the next thing and shut off the vectors by which they could do that before they can.
This requires non-corporate, non-sellable ownership, ala Mastodon/fedi.
