regardless of any other concern my biggest objection to AIs interjection into programming these days is that I think it's a moral, ethical, and financial mistake to over-invest your job skills into equipment/technology/paradigms that you lease from others. depending on closed-source for-profit continually-licensed services for your workflow is the mcdonalds of engineering.

similar argument for why you should not pay for adobe products, or why "being a youtuber" is not a safe career choice compared to "taking advantage of youtube as a platform to build a smaller dedicated fanbase that will be willing to follow you off-platform"
