There's an italian dish literally called antifascist pasta. Italy was so fucking sick of fascism that we called a recipe after how much we hated it. And now the Italian rightoids are getting lured back into thinking it was a good thing.
@prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer It's a dish that was made right after Mussolini was imprisoned and Hitler saved his arse, so Italy was still VERY low on resources. But the recipe goes, boil water and add salt, boil pasta in it as per usual. When ready add pasta and two ladles of cooking water in a pan, add butter and parmesan cheese. Stir until creamy.
@prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer I confess, I didn't know about this before today. There's an American youtuber with a channel about historical food, and recently made a series dedicated to WWII, the last episode was about an Italian cake made with chestnut flour. In the videos, however, he has parts where he talks about historical facts of the era. A name he mentioned had me research on the person and I found out about this.
