@klausfiend @lauren I'm eagar for when they force all the nodes in the US to back up to the block before the heist and fork the blockchain, being that they're probably stupid enough not to realize that'd make the whole thing worthless on both sides.

@lauren I am grimly excited for the moment Iran or North Korean cyber criminals steal the whole lot. And by "grimly excited" I mean revolted that our government would be this foolish to tie taxpayer dollars to a financial instrument that has no reason to exist and is only used to facilitate organized crime.

Trump signs executive order establishing cryptocurrency reserve, but for now apparently only using coins currently held by the government
As I understand it, this "reserve" is composed of cryptocurrency seized by the government, and while it establishes a study regarding future purchases that "do not cost taxpayers", it does not immediately mandate that these take place. So this could be a lot worse.
