     No fan can be hanged from a socket unless it is a special made socket for hanging a fan in it.

     Connecting a fan is not an issue.

     Price, I do not know. But yeah, depending on your priorities. My own experience is that to buy cheap is often to buy expensive, since it will break down.

     But that is not always true. I would still go for the good looking one.
