I can tell you several years ago we were in a bad drought in the middle of summer. I stepped outside for something IDR what, but as I was walking across the yard I seen how crispy and dry everything was and thought to myself "Lord, we sure could use some rain"

I heard

"PRAY!!!" boom in my head and immediately knelt down and prayed for rain. Stood up, finished whatever I was doing and went inside the house. No sooner than I sit down (about 15mins) I hear thunder and sure enough it showers. Keep in mind there wasn't a cloud in the sky at the time I went out.
