     @bazkie writing the code to this blog and then blogging has set me back 25 years and I'm kinda really enjoying the internet more than I have since Facebook essentially ran-through MySpace and kicked the floodgates of stupidity and fake news wide TF open.

     I haven't drawn..well, anything... since middle school, and never with an iPad so this is... gonna be an adventure for sure. But it has proven oddly soothing if nothing else... So I'll take it! 😂

     @bazkie they did a very good job of making people feel "exclusive" when it was private.. kinda what Bluesky was trying to do to less success

     But like you said they filled all the sharp edges and flavor and gave folks the most digestible, bland ass food possible.. and bland ass people ate it up.

     But MySpace also did itself no favors; for all the fun it definitely stopped evolving.. it was all kinda a perfect petri dish of germs and amoeba to create the perfect brain rot disease for old folks

     @multiverseofbadness yeah looking back it's weird to me that facebook became so popular; it's so DULL, like there's no personality to it whatsoever. it has this business vibe. ugh!

     I sure hope we go back to oldskool internet permanently! with fancy personal homepages and lots of colors and styles :)

     @bazkie MySpace was a phenomena when it hit.. the first large scale social media to hit the US

     It was wildly popular with bands, and allowed people to add their own HTML and CSS to their page, which was kinda great when people really leaned into it

     It had tons of charisma but just kinda stopped evolving and become a wasteland

     Facebook was originally for "college accounts" which helped give it the "real people under real names" approach which was different than arguing with BoogerBoy69 ..

     @multiverseofbadness ah I see.. I have never been on myspace so I had no idea! it wasn't so big in the netherlands; we had hyves and cu2. both were very.. ugly, but in a lovable way 😁

     (but they died when facebook took over, basically)
