     “US may exclude government spending from GDP, obscuring effect of Doge [sic] cuts

     ..could potentially complicate or distort a fundamental measure of the US economy’s health. Govt spending is traditionally incl in GDP because changes in taxes, spending, deficits & regulations by govt can affect the path of overall growth. GDP reports already incl extensive details on govt spending, offering a level of transparency for economists”

     Trump wants to exclude govt spending from calculations of GDP. Well, he is an expert at cooking the books. Can't wait to see what Paul Krugman has to say about the consequences of that.
