While I do have a lot of privilege, growing up I struggled with being gay and being bullied for my cree (native american) heritage.
My parents raised me to be proud of who I am, and to stand up for those who can't.
This has shaped me as a project leader.
And while I've struggled, I remain focused on building platforms for everyone, but most importantly, for those who feel unsafe anywhere else.
Their voices will always have a home in the projects I build.
Because dignity is for everyone ❤️

  @dalstroka Growing up as a native in Alberta/British Columbia wasn't easy, ironically, I was bullied even though I passed as white, both sides made fun of me.
  That was a different time, but there is still systemic racism, even from our own people.

  And through comics about the old west, we read about Sioux, Kiowa, Cree, Cherokee, Apache, Hopi....and others. Always wish I was native american. So if you'd grown up in Norway, you'd be my hero.
  And as a grown up....currently reading, though progress is slooooow, "Natures way", by Ed McGaa (Eagle Man). Love it!

    PowWow was the first Internet instant message and chat program for Windows. It was made by a company called Tribal Voice, Inc. Features Many of the features found in contemporary instant messaging programs were first introduced in PowWow. The program also had several innovative features such as allowing users to talk with each other using VoIP, a shared whiteboard, a built-in speech synthesizer, WAV sound file playing, offline transmittal of instant messages via POP/SMTP, and the ability for users to share their web surfing experience concurrently by redirecting either party to a new URL when another navigates elsewhere. It also had built-in file transfer with a simple drag-and-drop interface to make file sharing very easy.
