   6) Schindler’s List (1993)

   Tells a grim story at length, exploring the ambiguity of Schindler who did things that are normally considered bad to ameliorate something much worse (genocide). The music is unforgettable. Carried by Liam Neeson.

     5) Chariots of Fire (1981)

     I was surprised by how emotionally I reacted to it. It’s a beautiful film, it looks good, it sounds good, and I felt better after having watched it. Effective on anti-semitism and the positives of religion.

     7) CODA (2021)

     Ruby, the child of deaf adults (CODA), has an impressive talent for singing. She navigates her parents’ utter incomprehension, the cute boy in the choir, and her own self-esteem in order to audition for a top music school. I cried.
