Look at the size of those horses, and compare them to the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Now you know how the Roman's conquered the known world. They were fucking Space Marines.
We must institute breeding programs to RETVRN

@stoner713 @IlDuWuce The irony there is that the Gauls were known for using wagons; the way we use mechanized infantry platforms, they were doing the same and ferrying men on and off the battlefield, repositioning where reinforcements were needed.
Caesar was impressed with a number of their ingenious military advances.
The only thing they would have needed to stop Rome was the ability to follow a leader. Which even today is something the Irish don't have.

@stoner713 @IlDuWuce But for realsies, I never knew why the chariot was such a big deal till I'd learned how small the horses were. Two small horses made for a mobile platform. Selective breeding.

@NoDoxGregBrady @IlDuWuce I think the lay of the land was a big thing as well. More open spaces in the middle east lead to the chariot being supreme. That Same chariot, not so good in the forests of the Gaul.

No not really. Horses were smaller 2000 years ago.
