"best sword" discourse is honestly silly, which is best in a given situation depends on so many different factors that you can't make a blanket judgement like that

if you're a pikeman, lugging a greatsword around is probably not a good idea, you're going to want something shorter and handier, conversely, if you're cavalry, you probably don't want a sword so short that you can't hit anything.
this is all moot from a HEMA perspective, we're not actually fighting battles, but that makes this even sillier. which swords feel more natural? which do you enjoy using more? those are the best swords!
