   When Puff Daddy turned out to be a scum bag, that hurt but life goes on. You listen to different music. When big tech turns out to be a scumbag, what is the alternative? Samsung flip phones? Duckduckgo? MapQuest? I'm at the point where I don't want anything to do with companies that willingly go along with nonsense for what must be monetary gains. Is anyone making serious changes to their tech based on this disgust or am I just overreacting and this will blow over? #bigtech #google #meta #amazon #apple #gulfofmexico

     @cienmilojos I started deGoogling when I learned they were reading my emails. So now I've ramped that up. I'm learning more about self hosting, I'm working towards migrating to a Linux phone, I'm hanging out on platforms like Mastodon, etc.
     I existed when computers were mostly self-contained and occasionally dialed out. I can certainly handle my own data.

     I'm also recommending things that aren't being evil dicks, and... Well, some things I can't post.

     @hellomiakoda yeah, there is a lot of utility in Google Search and Maps that still cannot be replicated anywhere else. I switched email and calendar providers years ago.
