"engine braking" is a weird term. It's made to look like a new technique but it's just down shifting without being a retard and engaging the clutch fully before you even brake. -

I always brake first, and downshift when I'm under 20kmph. It's far more easier to control the bike's weight and traction. I might be going 100kmph but I still do the same every single time and never crashed in emergency braking. Also I'm not cornering like crazy on a 200 kilo fully metal bike -

@FrailLeaf well a custom built bike, totally, but the most heaviest production bikes are under 500 kg and are these cruiser bikes with a bunch of storage compartments and shit -
