People don't click on promoted stuff anymore at all anymore, if it not being blocked by adblockers and stuff. It is not uncommon at all for advertisers to pay like 2 to 5 euro per click nowadays at Facebook or Google. It is absolutely insane compared to effectiveness from like 10 years ago when this was only like 15 to 50 cents.
If you want to advertise on Facebook or Google it is usually more cost effective to cut out Facebook or Google themselves and instead sponsor "influencers" to market your product in a more direct way.
Ironically this also means that more traditional and privacy friendly advertising strategies like radio/tv commercials, or even billboards are becoming more cost effective again funny enough
