   @chris That’s how it always feels when you talk to someone in the bubble.

   I had a poli sci teacher who was crowing on BoomerBook about how Zelenski is the most democratic leader since Abraham Lincoln and the leader of free Europe in its existential struggle against Putler.

   They have to ignore a lot of facts to curate their vision of reality. When you point it out they go feral and try to bite you.

     @chris They’ve stopped teaching objectivity. Around 2010, journalism schools began teaching that journalists have an ethics obligation to be activists.

     That’s why you saw the shift. The 2010 students entered the field in 2014, and by 2017 they began to occupy some of the editorial desks.

     Many journalists and news outlets have eroded public trust by prioritizing keeping Trump out of office over maintaining detached, objective reporting. Whether intentional or not, the result is that news feels more like advocacy than journalism. Truth is shaped by perception, and when reporting appears agenda-driven, it undermines credibility, making people question whether they are receiving facts or persuasion.
