     theming is not important and it's been a good thing that on gnome apps that thing is that a thing anymore

     @green they block progress and refuse to collaborate with others on wayland protocols. meanwhile cosmic, kde, wlroots etc. are working together and trying to standardize their shared extensions. gnome wants everything to be done over dbus...

     i don't dislike GNOME as a desktop environment, I just think that their vision for the ecosystems they participate in is really really bad. they're building a walled garden a la apple

     @lizzy i agree with the bikeshedding of wayland, but i think a voice that isn't a yesman could be positive, but granted, I haven't read discussions.
     
     And, I am biased because I consider what the gnome devs to be "correct" as my experience has been stellar

     @mischievoustomato as i already said in a different reply, I don't dislike gnome as a desktop environment, it has good design and so on, but their vision for various ecosystems they participate in is really harmful
