   I applied to change my middle name on my passport mid December. It was approved on December 26th, and at the US embassy January 2nd.

   Since I was unable to pick it up by the time the new administration was sworn in, an embassy official destroyed it.

   Solely because it listed my sex as "X".

     I still have my old US passport which lists my sex as "X", destroying my new passport served no purpose other than petty cruelty.

     @rm They didn't change the law. Most likely what they're doing is illegal. I don't know why the bureaucrats are complying, they'll probably be fired either way.
