much better explanation - if someone is twice your age, that means that the offset is 2x - this offset is changing every future year by +1, not +2

@kaia They will be less than double your age in the future. Let's say your age is x. Their age will be 2x. After y years,
Your age: x + y
Their age: 2x + y
double your age: 2(x +y) = 2x + 2y
So their age is less than double your age.
