Joe Rogan's entire bit is being an agreeable stoner dipshit who normalizes vaguely conspiratorial fashy garbage to his audience of dipshits because right-wingers realized the Rush Limbaugh model of obnoxiously shouting at people is a turnoff. That doesn't map well onto left politics either way.

People bring up Rogan as an example, I think, because they want someone who can make left-ish ideas palatable to young men. But young white men are a right-leaning demographic because they have everything to gain from the status quo, and any outreach designed to appeal to them specifically risks merely reaffirming their biases.

That said, Bernie Sanders was pretty successful with that demographic just by making vaguely populist shouty noises. Likewise, AOC has won over people -- including, weirdly, a lot of Trump guys -- just by being forthright about what the problems are.
The big problem with left-leaning political messaging is no one in the mainstream wants to pay for it because it runs counter to the do nothing conservative orthodoxy of the Democratic Party.

Especially since the original TikTok kerfuffle, elected Democrats have become increasingly hostile to voters calling them to urge action on certain issues and treat them as fake "flash mobs" engineered by progressive media organizations. They loathe AOC. You think they and their donors want to fund a passionate, left-leaning political outlet that will take them to task, too?
