I was thinking about the people who complain I "make being #ActuallyAutistic my entire personality". They want to know why.
I'll tell you why. 🧵
It's because they make being "normal" their entire personality. Think about it...

They'll refrain from enjoying something if it's too weird, too "cringe", or goes against the stereotypes for which gender they are. Right down to what music they listen to and what games they play.
They insist everyone else dress in a fairly restrictive set of "normal", so they all look similar.
They won't stim, so they bitch when we do it.
I "make it my personality" because there are people insisting a Nazi salute is a stim. I might act, talk, and think differently, and I might flee from bright lights like a vampire at high noon in Pheonix, but I sure as shit don't throw Nazi signs.
I do it because people seem to think autism means I'm stupid. Even people who thought I was smart before they knew.
I do it because somehow "I'm just not up for socializing" or "I'm focused on something" doesn't cut it to decline an sctivity.
What a weird life that be, just constantly like "Omg, that person is flapping their hands! I better stare at them or bitch that it's somehow bothering me all the way across the room!"
"A stranger! I must make physical contact with them as punishment for having to talk to me for any reason!"
"That person is having too much fun! I better put a stop to it!"
"Grrr How dare they feel excited/joyous so much they move around and make happy sounds! They must be stopped!"
Fucken weirdos!
