I don't know how I missed this but, a guy who was having his car driving tracked for insurance discount got his insurance raised because they detected extremely unsafe speeds and rapid turns, but the reason it turns out is he was on a roller coaster at the time:

@piggo in theory it is voluntary. However, there is a pending lawsuit claiming that there are several apps that sell location data to insurance companies without your permission (no proof has been provided yet.)
Basically every car company in the USA, including European car companies, collects location data and sells it.

@piggo @sun As per the existing privacy laws, or taking a glance at human rights, no, but businesses that seek to make lots of money are often deemed to be above the law and human rights.
