   I am finally ready to sign up for a Costco membership. I have the fee now and everything. After filling out the whole form, I submitted and got the "currently access to your membership is not available" error. Tried again on my phone, same thing. 😞

     It's good also that they're not caving to the regime, and it's good to make a showing of supporting that, but with corporations that could change any time.

     But being able to get essentials in bulk, and at prices that don't impose a huge burden at an already precarious time, is huge.

     I picked up 25 lbs of flour for the price of 10, 4 packs of tofu for the price of 1, and similar on lots of other stuff. Covered cost of membership in a single trip.

     I will still sign up for Costco, I'll just have to go in person.

     A big reason I want to have this membership is access to an organization large enough to have financial leverage to bring in essentials when the inevitable shortages begin.

     It's not so much that I want a gross of flip-flops or whatever.
